To Whom It May Concern:
It is my pleasure to commend and acknowledge the selfless work of Jackie Foster, CEO for Social Justice Aotearoa (SJA), and her phenomenal team.
Jackie’s admirable determination, tenacity and courage to go straight to the source and demand they take responsibility for inadequacies within their department is bold, brave and overwhelmingly comforting.
In her representation of us, she has conducted herself with respect, integrity and professionalism throughout all advocacy on our behalf. Corresponding accordingly with Jeremy Lightfoot (CEO for NZ Corrections), Sir Ron Young (Chairman of NZ Parole Board), OOTI (Office of the Inspectorate) and Kelvin Davis, Minister for NZ Corrections. Jackie is not daunted by an individual’s title or the office held. Her boldness is uplifting and empowering, and her professionalism compliments her overall management style. And lastly, her procedure to follow-up on everything she initiates demonstrates a strong commitment to getting results.
Like so many others, this is un-charted waters for us. Jackie and her amazing team threw us the life-saving rope we never knew existed. They instilled in us the confidence to write and pursue a suitable action plan to help our loved one.
I know that Jackie and her team work evenings, weekends and even statutory holidays. Our whānau is humbled by their work ethic and most grateful for their unwavering support.
It gives me great pleasure to put these words on paper in support of SJA, Jackie and her amazing team.
Yours sincerely
Moana Hanover
