That the House of Representatives urge the Government to establish a Royal commission to inquiry into the wrongful conviction of Allan Hall and the police investigation that led to that conviction.
Petition reason
It is now a known fact that evidence had been altered by persons now known to the Crown. The altering of this evidence was at the time to the prosecution’s advantage and to the detriment of Allan Hall’s defence. This is unacceptable to the public of Aotearoa, and we believe that a Royal Commission of Inquiry should be held, led by an independent KC or the likes from another country as was the case in the Arthor Allan Thomas inquiry.
